My name is Joni Young. I have been teaching Preschool at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel School since I began my teaching career in 2007. I grew up in Long Prairie, graduating from Long Prairie/Grey Eagle High School in 2003. I continued my education at Northwestern College, St. Paul, graduating in May, 2007. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education, a Major in Bible and a Minor in Preprimary Education.
I absolutely love teaching and cannot imagine my days any other way. I love helping children learn all about the world around them through new and adventurous ways. Their little minds just amaze me! Getting to know all the amazing families right as they enter our school is another great aspect of my job! We truly have such great families in our school and I am blessed to know each of them!
When I am not at school, I love spending time with my family. I have an amazing husband, Jonathan, twin daughters, Ellianna and Addison, and an adorable son, William. We love to go on walks, bike rides, play at the parks and visit lots of new places. I love to spend time fishing, hunting and just enjoying the animals of the outdoors. I have taken up a new hobby, sewing, the last few months, and look forward to trying some new tricks as I continue to learn the craft.
I am excited to be teaching in my hometown and I love that my own children are able to attend St. Mary School.
