A Prayer for Children and Teachers
God of life and love,
Help me to respond to the gift of your love.
Happy, Happy Catholic Schools’ Week! Thanks to all of you for your support in our amazing Catholic school. I am so privileged to be a part of your child’s religious and academic education. Today our celebration was for our volunteers; they are greatly appreciated. Thank you! Thursday, dress in sports & hats/exercising with Jamin’ Minute. Friday we will be celebrating READING; my love for this is enormous! We will relax and share the joy of many favorite stories. Wear your pajamas for pajama day, also on Friday! Our lessons will include: Religion- Creation! Writing – Friendly Letter to Isabelle, the amazing helper, friend to all and Child of God. Math – hour to half, odds/evens and symmetry/snowflakes. Stay warm blessings!
Welcome to the beginning of the third quarter! It is so hard to believe that we are past the half way mark! This very short week we will be learning about the different parts of the mass, reviewing for our Theme 3 reading test we’ll be taking next week, and completing math centers that will be Snow Much Fun! We will also be writing about animal habitats. Have a wonderful rest of the week!
Gavin Albers was our ‘Disciple of the Week’ last week. He has shown how to be a follower of Jesus by his joyful sense of humor and his helping out in the classroom. Derek Anderson is ‘Disciple of the Week’ this week. Derek has shown others how to be a follower by his kindness toward others with his sharing and helping out his classmates when needed. Celebrating Catholic School’s Week is always an exciting time of the year, and this year is no exception. Thank you to all you wonderful parents for sending your child(ren) to this great school!
Thank you, volunteers, for making our school a special place for learning! The students are looking forward to the AR store and pajama day on Friday. We will begin learning double digit multiplication as we start our next unit in math. The class continues to practice plurals and possessive nouns as we read a play about Peter and Fudge.
This week we have been having a blast celebrating Catholic schools’ week. We also marked the end of the second quarter last week, which means we are starting a new novel unit book. Before we start our new book, we are going to enjoy the movie of our last novel unit book and use a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the book with the movie.
What an exciting week! Hopefully we’ll get to spend the rest of the week at school. Let us all pray for warmer weather. The sixth graders did a great job at mass today. Tomorrow we will be celebrating sports day, and Friday is our make-up pajama day. Report cards will go home this week. Please call or stop by with any questions or concerns. Thank you to all of our volunteers; you are wonderful!
