Hello, my name is Rosemary Berscheit. I graduated in 1987 from Lesley College in Cambridge, Massechuetts with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I moved to Texas, where I taught first grade for 15 years. My husband, Pete and I moved to Grey Eagle in the spring of 2004 when he retired from the Army. We have five daughters, who all attended St. Mary’s.

I spent time volunteering and substitute teaching at St. Mary’s. In 2016, I was blessed to become the Preschool teacher! I love working, and learning with the 3 and 4 years olds. In my time off, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and gardening.

I have been teaching at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel School since 1994. I taught sixth grade for 11 years. I am currently teaching Kindergarten. Being a kindergarten teacher is so rewarding! I feel like I have a front row seat to watch a flower bloom! Each day is different and I think that is what keeps my life exciting and my teaching fresh.

I am married and have two children. In my spare time I enjoy playing my flute with the Long Prairie Chamber Orchestra. I also find time to read, craft, and spend time with my family.

Hello! My name is Jamie Heurung (Hi-rung), and I am first and foremost a prayer warrior, rooted in the Catholic faith!  My husband Justin and I have four children, all of whom are attending St. Mary’s Catholic School for the first time this year.  Previously, we homeschooled our children. In addition to that, I tutored a Classical Conversation Curriculum in the Sartell area and taught Drivers Education for four years.  Prior to that, I taught computers to students at St. Boniface Catholic Elementary School in Cold Spring, which is where Justin was raised. I was a faith formation director, a Baptism instructor, a student teacher in Clarissa, MN, and a graduate of Bemidji State University and Browerville High School. Our family is looking to put down roots in the community and are happy to be here at the first Catholic school in the St. Cloud Diocese.

I believe “it takes a community to raise a child” and that we can all learn from each other.  I became a teacher to activate students’ natural curiosity and assist them with processing new information. Mainly, my goal is to see each student “try.”  In my spare time I enjoy watching movies, camping, hunting, gardening, writing, and playing games.

Hello!  I am Mary Vetter.  I graduated from the University of Mary in Bismark, ND, with a B.S. in Elementary/Early Childhood Education.  I have been teaching since 1998, and have been at St. Mary School since 2000. I enjoy seeing a child’s growth over the school year and watching that child be the best that he/she can be with the gift that God has given that person.

I am married and have children and grandchildren. In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening, baking, horseback riding, some sports, nature walks, and spending time with family and friends.

Hello! My name is Mary Jimenez, and I am the third-grade teacher at St. Mary’s. I attended the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota and have taught third and fourth grade. This is my third year of teaching. I love being a teacher, because it is a blessing to be able to foster a love of learning in my students and inspire them to keep exploring and become life-long learners.

I am married to my husband Jose, who is a math teacher at Long Prairie/Grey Eagle High School. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, cross country skiing, and learning about my faith.

Hello, my name is Felicia Middendorf. I grew up on a dairy farm near Dubuque, Iowa and graduated from Clarke University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. In 2016, I graduated from Clarke University with a master’s degree in instructional leadership. I have been teaching since 2016, with one year at Christ the King in Browerville before coming to St. Mary’s in 2017.

I have always loved school and enjoyed learning. My favorite thing is to see the students’ eyes light up when they learn something interesting or something connects with them.  My husband, Daniel, and I live near Long Prairie and dairy farm. We have two daughters, Zoey and Olivia. I enjoy reading, drawing, and spending time with family.

Hello, my name is Julie Twardowski. In 1991, I graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I teach 6th Graders, and some courses for our St. Mary 5th Graders! I began my teaching career in 1992, shortly after college graduation. Working at St. Mary School has blessed me in so many ways.

I was born and raised in Browerville, Minnesota. In 1991, I married Chad and made the big move of 8 miles to Long Prairie! My family and I live five miles Northeast of town.

I have two daughters, Elizabeth and Allyssa, and one son-in-law, Ryan. My husband, Chad, owns an excavating company. My hobbies include going on runs, walks, shopping, and spending time with my family.
